HydroCl is a clinically formulated, high-purity electrolyte replenishment solution designed for rapid and effective management of dehydration and electrolyte imbalances in medical and high-exertion scenarios. Developed with input from leading nephrologists and sports medicine specialists, it employs an optimized ratio of sodium, potassium, and glucose to enhance cellular uptake and fluid retention. Its osmolarity is carefully calibrated to match physiological norms, ensuring swift absorption without gastrointestinal distress. Ideal for both clinical settings and demanding athletic use, HydroCl sets a new standard in precision rehydration science.
Features
- Isotonic formulation (270–300 mOsm/L) for optimal intestinal absorption
- Contains sodium chloride, potassium chloride, and dextrose in evidence-based concentrations
- Free from artificial colors, flavors, and preservatives
- Available in single-dose, sterile powder sachets for reconstitution
- pH-balanced to minimize gastric irritation
- Each serving provides 500 mg sodium, 300 mg potassium, and 5 g carbohydrates
Benefits
- Rapidly restores fluid balance and prevents complications of dehydration such as renal stress and hypotension
- Supports neuromuscular function by correcting electrolyte deficits, reducing cramping and fatigue
- Enhances hydration efficiency via sodium-glucose cotransport mechanism (SGLT1)
- Suitable for use in heat-related illness, gastroenteritis, perioperative care, and endurance athletics
- Reduces need for intravenous rehydration in mild to moderate cases
- Improves cognitive and physical performance under dehydrating conditions
Common use
HydroCl is commonly used in cases of acute dehydration resulting from vigorous exercise, gastrointestinal fluid loss (e.g., vomiting, diarrhea), fever, or mild heat stroke. It is also employed perioperatively to maintain hydration in patients undergoing short-duration fasting. In sports medicine, it is used for pre-, intra-, and post-event hydration strategies. Medical professionals may recommend it for elderly patients at risk of hypovolemia or individuals working in high-temperature environments.
Dosage and direction
Dissolve the contents of one sachet in 250 mL of clean, cool water. Stir until fully dissolved.
- Adults: Drink 500–1000 mL over 1–2 hours, depending on level of dehydration. Do not exceed 2000 mL in 4 hours without medical supervision.
- Children 6–12 years: 250–500 mL over 2 hours under healthcare guidance.
- Not recommended for children under 6 without physician approval.
For ongoing fluid loss (e.g., diarrhea), consume 150–200 mL after each loose stool. Do not use undissolved powder.
Precautions
- Do not use in patients with severe renal impairment without medical consultation.
- Use with caution in individuals with hypertension or heart failure due to sodium content.
- Monitor blood glucose levels in diabetic patients.
- Not intended for sole nutrition—maintain normal dietary intake where possible.
- Discontinue use if abdominal distension or nausea occurs.
Contraindications
- Anuria or severe oliguria
- Hyperkalemia
- Known allergy to any component
- Congestive heart failure (NYHA Class III–IV)
- Severe hyponatremia
- Ileus or bowel obstruction
Possible side effect
Mild and transient side effects may include:
- Nausea
- Abdominal discomfort
- Headache
- Slight elevation in blood pressure
Rare cases of allergic reaction (rash, itching) have been reported.
Drug interaction
- May reduce efficacy of antihypertensive medications.
- Potassium-sparing diuretics or ACE inhibitors may increase risk of hyperkalemia.
- Concomitant use with corticosteroids may enhance sodium retention.
- Consult a physician if using lithium, as sodium intake can affect lithium levels.
Missed dose
HydroCl is used as needed for dehydration. There is no fixed dosing schedule. If a dose is missed, resume at the next signs of fluid loss or as recommended.
Overdose
Excessive consumption may lead to hypernatremia, hyperkalemia, or fluid overload. Symptoms include confusion, muscle weakness, edema, or shortness of breath. In case of suspected overdose, discontinue use and seek medical attention. Treatment is supportive and may include diuresis or electrolyte monitoring.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place below 25°C (77°F). Keep the sachet sealed until use. Use reconstituted solution within 4 hours if kept at room temperature, or 24 hours if refrigerated. Do not freeze.
